Gavin Foggon    Email
Marsh Management Services, Inc.

Gavin is a financial professional with 20 years’ experience in captive insurance management. Before joining Marsh in 2006, Gavin was executive vice president of a captive management firm based in Charleston, South Carolina. His responsibilities included developing new business opportunities, managing the facilities and staff, and maintaining a relationship with business partners and vendors. He served on each client’s Board as South Carolina resident Director. Gavin was also involved with the captive insurance industry in the Cayman Islands for five years. He was responsible for the administration of a varied portfolio of captive insurance companies, ensuring that these companies complied with all reporting and regulatory requirements.

Ron Krebs     Email

After graduating from the University of Louisville and serving a stint in the United States Army, Ron Krebs started his insurance career in 1959 with Aetna Casualty and Surety. He worked his way up to VP of Sales, Marketing and Special Projects. Ron then formed his own agency in 1983 and joined the South Carolina Department of Insurance in 2008. Ron is active with IIAA, SCCIA, and TFSR and is a past recipient of the Palmetto Captive Award.  In 2016, Ron received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the SCCIA. In the same year, he began yet another phase of his career with BAC/Solutions.

Bryan Hudson, CPA, ACI     Email

Bryan P. Hudson, CPA, ACI is a shareholder in the audit and business advisory department of BPS and is a practice area leader in the firm’s captive insurance practice. He provides services to captive insurance companies, risk retention groups, commercial property casualty carriers, and health insurers. Bryan also provides services to managers, managing general agents, claims administrators, and other service providers within the insurance industry and outsourced regulatory compliance and statutory financial reporting.  

Bryan holds the prestigious Associate in Captive Insurance (ACI) designation sponsored by the International Center for Captive Insurance Education. In 2014, Bryan was honored as the “Captive Person of the Year” by the South Carolina Captive Insurance Association for his leadership and dedication to the captive insurance industry.

Bryan is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants, the South Carolina Captive Insurance Association, and the North Carolina Captive Insurance Association, and is a member of the board of directors of the International Center for Captive Insurance Education.

Michele Johns     Email
IU Health Risk Retention Group, Inc. 

In March, 1999, Michele joined IU Health, Inc., an acute care/ academic hospital system, and has held a variety of positions, including Associate General Counsel, Executive Director of Insurance Operations and Risk Management and currently Chief Risk Officer. Michele’s duties include overseeing the Enterprise Risk Management program for the IU Health system and operation and management of IU Health’s captive insurance program. Michele also serves as President of IU Health Risk Retention Group, Inc. a South Carolina domiciled Risk Retention Group. She is a member of the Indianapolis Bar Association, Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana, Indiana Society for Health Care Risk Management and American Society for Health Care Risk Management.

Randy Martin     Email
Energy Insurance Services, Inc.

Randy began a career in insurance and risk management with the Aetna Casualty & Surety company immediately upon graduation from college as a commercial property and liability underwriter. From there he held several positions with other large insurers and brokers. In 2000, he left Willis to assume a newly created role in the Risk & Insurance Department of American Electric Power (AEP).  AEP is one of the largest electric power utilities in North America. During the last half of his 16 years with AEP, he was the Managing Director of the Risk & Insurance Department. Throughout his time at AEP, he was highly engaged in the utilization of a protected cell within Energy Insurance Services, Inc. With these years at AEP and 5 years at Borden, Inc. his captive insurance experience spans over 21 years.

Retired from AEP in to assume the current position he holds with EIS, Randy and with his wife, Tammy, relocated to the low country of SC late in 2016. 

Randy received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration majoring in Finance at West Virginia University. Tammy and Randy have three adult children with six grandchildren.

Megan Ogden     Email

Before joining JLT Towner to head up the firm’s South Carolina office in Charleston, Megan Ogden handled account management, accounting and auditing duties for major firms both domestically and offshore.

Megan previously served as Vice President, Deputy Team Leader and Senior Account Executive for Marsh Management Services Cayman Ltd., where she began as an account manager. Prior to her tenure at Marsh, she was a Financial Controller for a Cayman Islands golf course and land developer and a senior auditor for BDO Seidman, LLP in North Carolina.

Megan received her B.S. in Accounting from the University of Alabama and her CPA designation in North Carolina.

Gary Osborne    Email
USA Risk Group

Gary Osborne is President of USA Risk Group, operating from our Greenville, South Carolina office. In this role he is responsible for developing innovative alternative and traditional risk strategies and programs for clients and prospects of USA Risk Group (USARG).

Gary is also responsible for oversight of the captive and alternative market divisions of USA Risk Group. Gary has been working in the alternative market for thirty years, having held positions in Bermuda, Hawaii, Vermont and South Carolina. He has been involved in the establishment of numerous single parent captives, association captives, risk retention groups and traditional group insurance programs. He is a frequent industry speaker and has spoken at the CPCU Annual Meeting, RIMS, the American Society of Association Executives’ Conference, the Casualty Actuarial Society Conference, IBC Conference, Self Insurance Institute of America Conference, as well as captive industry conferences in Hawaii, Vermont, South Carolina, Arizona, Tennessee, Bermuda and Cayman.

In addition, he is a regular contributor to industry publications and has been published and quoted in Captive Review, Captive Times, Business Insurance, Risk and Insurance, National Underwriter and the Risk Retention Reporter. Captive Review recently ranked Gary as number 4 in the “Power 50” for the alternative risk industry.

Jay Seibels     Email
Seibels Law Firm, P.A.

Jay founded the Seibels Law Firm in Charleston in 2001 at the same time South Carolina adopted its captive insurance legislation. He advises on legal aspects of alternative risk feasibility studies and structural models. Jay has organized and represents captive insurance companies, risk purchasing groups, risk retention groups and captive managers in multiple domiciles. In addition he has counseled both borrowers and lenders in seven and eight figure finance transactions involving traditional and alternative programs. Calling upon his years of experience in litigation, Jay advises insurance companies and other organizations on human resource management, safety, and various liability issues, including directors' and officers' fiduciary duties and liabilities arising from the risk of insolvency.

Jay is a co-founder of The Friendly Society Restored and was an integral part in the merger of the SCCIA & Friendly Society in 2016. This is his second time serving on the Board of the South Carolina Captive Insurance Association.
