1. Your first step should be to contact the South Carolina Department of Insurance.

2. Now you need to find the right service provider business partners.
Most companies interested in setting up a captive will need the assistance of a captive manager, an attorney or other professional service provider.  IN this regard, SCCIA encourages you to check out our Service Provider Directory for business partner referrals.

3. Next you need the correct forms.
The link below will direct you to the most current forms, applications and information on the South Carolina Department of Insurance website. The Department of Insurance issued the new forms, currently active on the DOI site, in June 2005. Applications used prior to that date should be discarded with the new forms used until further notice.

4. Now you need information.
